Track and Field Competitions
Due to COVID restrictions competition this season will look different to previous seasons. Please refer directly to the Athletics NSW website for up-to-date information.
Held over a series of rounds starting in early-October, the competition is a way for all athletes to get involved in an organised competition. Athletes score points for their respective clubs which tally towards both the age group pennants and the overall Treloar Shield. Cherrybrook Athletics finished 4th in the Premiership in the 2017-18 season.
NSW State Relays
This team based competition is great for club camaraderie as participants do their best to perform and support their respective clubs. Both track and field relays are contested across 2 days at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre (SOPAC). Four athletes are selected per relay event, so there is plenty of opportunity for athletes to be selected and participated. ALL athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in what is always a very fun and friendly day with fellow Cherrybrook Athletes. Nominations will open in Monday 15 October and once confirmed athletes will be informed via email of which relay(s) they have been selected for and team lists will be made available on our website.
A 2 day competition held in December at SOPAC each year which consist of three age divisions in the form of Open, Junior (U/14, U/16, U/18, U/20) and Masters.
The points scored in each age group, by each club, male and female, will be added together to yield the point score for each division. The club with the most points will be the winner of the division.
Cherrybrook finished 3rd (Junior Male), 4th (Junior Female & Masters Female), 6th (Open Female), 7th (Masters Male) and 10th (Open Male) in the season 2017/18.
Allcomers competitions are open to all Athletics NSW registered athletes and take place from January-April. The competition is graded allowing athletes of similar ability and standard to compete against one another. Runners are seeded in races based on previous performances.
