Treloar Shield
The Treloar shield is a series of organised Track and Field competitions held in the greater Sydney area between October – December. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment while participating in our sport.
Sure, you will get to share the venue with a few Olympians from time to time, but the event is pitched at all athletes (including Para athletes) of all abilities and standards, aged 10 – 80+. Everyone that is registered with Athletics NSW as an Open, concession or Little Athletics competitor (minimum age 9 years old) can compete. If you are registered with Little Athletics NSW and are between the ages of 10 – 17, you are eligible for a membership for Free!
All events will be conducted in the following age groups.
- Under 12
- Under 15
- Under 14
- Under 18
- Opens
- 35 – 49 masters
- 50+ masters
- Para
Age is determined at 31 December 2024 for Juniors and the day of the competition for masters.
While the series is conducted in a relaxed nature, all 6 preliminary rounds and the final are conducted at AA permit standard. This means you can use your performance to qualify for Junior or Open Nationals (or international competitions if applicable).
A point score also operates so get your club mates out and about!
NSW Relays Champs
This team based competition is great for club camaraderie as participants do their best to perform and support their respective clubs. Both track and field relays are contested across 2 days at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre from the 15 – 17 November 2024. Four athletes are selected per relay event, so there is plenty of opportunity for athletes to be selected and participated. ALL athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in what is always a very fun and friendly day with fellow Cherrybrook Athletes. Nominations will open on mid to late October and once confirmed athletes will be informed via email of which relay(s) they have been selected for and team lists will be made available on our website.
Specialist Meets
Specialist meets competitions are open to all Athletics NSW registered athletes and take place from October to March in various locations of NSW. Specialists meets are specific to event group(s) eg. Throwers, High Velocity (sprinters), Jumps and Milers (distance running) competitions. The competition is graded allowing athletes of similar ability and standard to compete against one another. Runners are seeded in races based on previous performances and field athletes are grouped in pool(s) accordingly to their ability.
