The Daniel Berry Perpetual Trophy is Cherrybrook Senior’s most prestigious award. Presented to an athlete aged 16 or over, it recognises outstanding sportsmanship, a positive attitude and commitment to representing the club throughout the season.
The award honours Daniel Berry, a talented and much-loved Cherrybrook athlete who competed from 2009 to 2013. Daniel broke numerous NSW and Australian records in the U20 and Open Male AWD divisions and proudly represented Cherrybrook at interclub competitions, State Relays and Allcomers events. Known for his humility, determination and inspirational spirit, Daniel touched the lives of many before sadly passing away from cancer in 2013 at the age of 22.
Introduced by the Club in 2013/2014, the Daniel Berry Award celebrates the qualities Daniel embodied—kindness, resilience, sportsmanship and a genuine love of athletics. His legacy continues to inspire our athletes both on and off the track.
