To prevent damage to the Shire’s sporting fields Hornsby Shire Council (HSC) will close the fields during wet weather.<\/p>\n

Summer Weekend Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

For all grounds except cricket (i.e. athletics, softball, baseball) closures are up to each club’s discretion.<\/p>\n

In the case of rain starting late Friday afternoon, the Cherrybrook Committee may have to make a decision at 5.30pm on Friday night as to whether or not the session will go ahead. We will endeavour to have a notice on this site homepage as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

In some cases we can run a modified program in wet weather (which excludes high jump and hurdles), this can be found under weekly programs. The club will communicate if we will be running a wet weather program.<\/p>\n

Sometimes there is no way to know until we get to the oval, we regret not being able to inform you earlier.<\/p>\n

Weeknight evening training during winter<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Council decides on the ground status by 2pm each weekday. If grounds are CLOSED on the day of training the training is not permitted. If grounds are declared open, training is permitted at the discretion of the club or association.<\/p>\n

During winter, sport-ground closures are listed on the HSC website<\/a>. Otherwise call the wet weather line on 9847 6764<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
