If it has been raining a lot leading up to Friday night, the Council may close the grounds in the afternoon (see council info below).

If this happens, a notice like this will be put on our website homepage:

In the case of rain starting late Friday afternoon, the Committee may have to make a decision

at 5.30pm on Friday night as to whether or not the session will go ahead.

Since sometimes there is no way to know until we get there, we regret not being able to inform you earlier.

Ground closures due to wet weather

This page is not updated during the summer season as ground closures are left to the discretion of hirers (see procedure below).

During the winter season, this page is updated on weekdays by 2:00pm.

SUMMER WEEKEND COMPETITION

  • For cricket grounds with turf wickets, a decision is to be made by the ground curator in consultation with the club by 10:00am on the day of the scheduled game.
  • For all other grounds (i.e. athletics, softball, baseball) closures are up to each club's discretion.
